Lower Lakes Towing Co.'s Cuyahoga Offloaded salt from Goderich On. in Muskegon, Michigan. She is 620 feet long, 60 feet wide with a capacity of 15,675 tons. She was built in 1943 by American Shipbuilding Company in Lorain, Ohio. She was Launched as the J. Burton Ayers and was rechristened as the "Cuyahoga" in 1995. She was converted to a Self unloader by Manitowoc shipbuilding co. of Manitowoc Wisconsin in 1974. Then in 2001, she was repowered with a Caterpillar -3608 3,000 hp diesel engine, with a rated service speed of 12.6 mph.
