Man spielt einen Überlebenden in dem Zombie verseuchten Gebiet von Navezgane County in Arizona. In der Sprache der Apachen, die das Land seit Jahrhunderten bewohnt haben, bedeutet Navezgane "Killer of Monsters" und das ist genau das, was du tun musst um zu überleben.
