Another 80’s Classic! This is one of those songs that has a specific piano intro and certain notes that appear throughout the accompaniment and I’ve tried to include that in this song. The song came from the 1982 movie An Officer & A Gentleman. It was a bit of a gamble at the time it was recorded and the producers were a little dubious as to whether it would be a hit. Well, it was a hit, and because a huge part of the movie.

I didn’t use any sheet music for this, I’m playing by ear from how I believe the song is structured in my head. I play this in the key of C for two verses and two choruses. The bridge goes to Eb and the key change, instead of moving to C#, I move it to D major instead - only because it’s my arrangement and I think it sounds better. Let me know your thoughts. I hope you like it. I’m playing this entirely on solo piano.
