Ramakrishnan also spent brief periods of time learning from Vairamangalam Lakshmi Narayanan, C R Vaidyanathan, Vaikom Jayachandran and Chengleput Ranganathan. He is currently under the tutelage of R. K. Shriramkumar. In June 2011, after completing his undergraduate education (Informatics graduate from the University of California, Irvine ) Ramakrishnan Murthy moved to Chennai permanently and began pursuing Carnatic music full time. He is one of the top Carnatic vocalists today, a young musician who is treated almost on par with his much celebrated seniors. He has, since, performed regularly in Indian and international music festivals and famous sabhas, including the Madras Music Academy and has been accompanied by virtually all the notable names in the field of music today. His wise sense of aesthetics, his alignment to pitch (shruthi shuddham), enunciation of words, the clarity of his gamakas and his patanthara are often appreciated by critics. He is an A-grade artist of the All India Radio and Doordarshan, Chennai.

Meaning:
O Lord Sri Rama, Whatever may come to me or depart from me, I shall never forsake your divine presence.
Is not Lord Siva, the enemy of death (Antakari), serving you as Hanuman, having joined himself to your thought?
Isn’t Adisesha (the serpent who adorns Shiva) serving you as Lakshmana in this birth?
Isn’t the great sage Vasishta, the foremost of silent sages and the most virtuous, your well-wisher (guru)?
Did not even the gods themselves become monkeys to serve the supreme among men (Rama)?
Is not this Thyagaraja singing of your virtues that are proclaimed in the holy Agamas (Sacred scriptures)?
