President Trump told The Post that “Oh, we did a good job with Syria. They had a prison break. European prisoners were breaking and I got it stopped." He was referring to Islamic State militants who temporarily escaped from a prison in eastern Syria during a chaotic transfer of control between Kurdish-led forces and the Syrian government.The breakout occurred as guards abandoned the facility amid a fragile ceasefire, allowing local residents to free detainees, though US officials say most were later recaptured as Syrian forces imposed a curfew and launched security operations.
