Join us as we explore the challenges faced by women and girls in Mandera County, Kenya, where poverty, displacement, and food insecurity fuel gender-based violence disproportionately affecting women and girls. Physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse are prevalent, with 95.9% of women having undergone female genital mutilation, leading to severe physical and psychological consequences.
Learn how NAPAD, with over 13 years of experience in responding to humanitarian crises in North Eastern Kenya, is addressing these issues through its Women Psychosocial and Economic Empowerment approach.
NAPAD's programs provide psychosocial therapy, vocational training, small business support, and smallholder farming by women; helping women and girls heal from trauma, rebuild their lives, improve their mental health, and protect themselves and their families.
The Action for Women's Health initiative offers an opportunity to expand these efforts, allowing NAPAD to ensure long-term support for survivors as well as sustain our community psychosocial and economic empowerment programs for two years and facilitate SGBV research and policy development.
