Step inside the workshop of Kano Takeshi, a washi (Japanese Paper) artisan.
Kano lives in Mino city, Gifu prefecture and is one of eight artisans who can make Hon-Minoshi, a special designation of washi that is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This kind of paper has seen use in repairing priceless ancient artworks in notable museums such as the Louvre or Smithsonian.
Kano doesn't have an online presence, but if you're interested in finding out where you can get Mino Washi, let me know in the comments!
