3D printing your own core filament sounds like a fun DIY experiment — but does it actually improve layer adhesion?
In this video, I simulate a core filament by combining two materials with extremely different layer-adhesion properties: BambuLab Tough PLA on the outside (strong skin) and BambuLab Silk PLA in the core (weak layer adhesion). I already tested real core filaments before, but I needed a controlled reference to understand how much the internal core structure actually affects layer adhesion.
