The Newcastle Eagles School of Excellence trials is an event that allows players to showcase their basketballing talent in front of qualified coaches and to see if they get picked into the Newcastle Eagles school of excellence program, successful trialists then become junior professional basketballers.
The age groups covered in the trials are; Girls mixed age, Under 14 boys, Under 16 boys and Under 18 boys. The girls and Under 14 boys were in the morning session from 12pm to 3pm with the under 16 and 18 boys being 3pm to 6pm.
