I recorded the song in Latin (not only another language but a dead one) and I didn't have Shannon's voice any quieter than this. My voice completely drowned out hers, apart from in the chorus where there are backing vocals - but that wouldn't matter in English anyway.

If you are making this into a video, I would simply advise you to set the recording of your voice to play back louder than the backing track (that's all I did.) If you are singing live with microphone, you'll definitely be louder.
