By implementing a solution that scans invoices, uses AI to extract key data, and streamlines entry into Maximo records, OPC saw rapid improvements in efficiency and accuracy. Cristy Bennett has been associated with the Electric Utility Industry for 46 years, starting as a Co-op student at Georgia Power. After graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree from Clemson University, she spent the next 8 years working in Georgia Power Company’s Substation Control Design group.

That was followed by 11 years in the Supply Chain organization of Georgia Power & Southern Company, working in all areas of Supply Chain (purchasing, strategic sourcing, contract management, investment recovery & warehouse operations). After leaving the Southern Company, she spent the next 10 years as an independent contractor and full-time employee with Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) in their Procurement Services department. For the last 15 years, she has been leading the Supply Chain Services Department for Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) which uses Maximo as its enterprise asset management & supply chain tool. She also serves as the lead of the OPC Maximo Governance Team, a management committee member of the Maximo Utility Working Group (MUWG) , a management committee member of the Maximo Supply Chain User Group (MSCUG), serves on the Advisory Council for Maximo Supply Chain Matters (MSCM) and former Board member of the Utility Supplier Alliance Association (USMA). She has presented at various Maximo conferences (MaximoWorld, MUWG, UK & Ireland Maximo User G & MSCM).

When not working, she enjoys time with her family (husband, 2 kids and 3 grandkids) by the lake.
