Summer 2024 in Northwest Louisiana has been one the hottest and driest in recent memory. I've been watching the Red River at Miller's Bluff Bridge (located between Plain Dealing and Hosston, LA) over the last several weeks. I wanted to reach the big sand bar that sits just North of the bridge without using a boat.
So after thirty days without a single drop of rain. Water levels decreased to about two feet in some areas near the bar and had completely diminished in some places near the river's bank.
