The elites are the greatest soldiers of the Covenant army, or perhaps they were. How much of the Prophet's Great Journey has influenced their culture and what remains of their own heritage? The energy swords?
Those are cool.
The Arbiter too. He's fun.
Their home world is akin to ours and much of their ancient history resembles feudal Japan.

This is the Cultural Index a series aimed at exploring various Science-Fiction species.
For outsiders to a series to get to know the basics and maybe even hardened Sci-fi nuts might discover something new.
