Make-A-Wish • Stockton Firefighters • Hero Eric

Stockton Firefighters, Stockton Police, and other local agencies partner with Make-A-Wish Foundation to make Eric a Firefighter for a day.

Eric has had an extended and difficult struggle with brain cancer. He could have asked for any wish in the world- and he asked to ride with the Fire Department in his home town of Stockton. Make-A-Wish reached out to Stockton Firefighters to help make this wish true.

Stockton Firefighters surprised Eric one morning after 'responding to a structure fire' in his neighborhood. Eric loaded onto a fire engine, brought to the downtown firehouse, and outfitted with his own gear. After a police escort and tour of the City, Eric returned to the firehouse- where he responded to a real fire and saved the day. Months later, Eric was pinned by Stockton Fire Chief Erik Newman- when declared him a Honorary Stockton Firefighter for life.

We would like to thank Make-A-Wish, The Stockton Police Department, all of the other agencies that made this happen, and especially the community and Stockton citizens who came out and celebrated Eric's wish come true.
