What's up folks,
There has been a lot of driving related questions the RV driving experience versus a regular car, SUV, or truck. Generally speaking, they are the same except RVs are bigger, slower and require extra caution. You will need to learn to use your mirrors more, brake lighter, accelerate lighter, and find larger parking spaces.
In this video, I try to answer all the questions in lengthy video of me driving to the mountains. Essentially, this is a how to drive an drive type video. We start from a City Community for groceries, to a major Highway, to Banff, and then around the Mountains. I tried to make it a short video, but I felt it wasn't detailed enough to really teach and demonstrate what you can expect. If you are in the situation of needing this type of video, then you will want to watch it.
For the folks that really want understand the road conditions and driving patterns around the mountains - this video should answer many questions.
Lots of people, travel from abroad to visit Canada and are pretty foreign to the Canadian environment. So I tried to include a lot of road video footage so you can see for yourself what you will be driving in. It really isn't so bad, but a nice visual really helps.
For example, when I was living in the UK, the roads were smaller, the cars were smaller, people drove on the opposite side of the road, the traffic was heavier etc. Before making my trip to the UK I was unable to find just plain driving instruction to give me some good tips. In the end I had to watch a bunch of videos to get an understanding. I hope this video gives you a good idea of the Canadian SUMMER roads. If you come here in winter, it will be another world - that is for another video 😊.
Near the end of the video, I show you our attempt of getting in Tunnel Mountain Camp ground (it was full), we drive around some picnic areas, the show you a beautiful mountain side stove top cook out dinner. These are things you will want to do. After dinner we packed up and left to our night spot.
We ended up staying the the Lake Louise Over flow because everything was full. This was a quick unplanned RV trip, staying in an overflow in an RV isn't so bad. If you are interested here is the video that shows where we ended up staying. If you ever need a spot, the Lake Louise Overflow will have a 99.9 chance of having room for you. It is mainly used for over night camping stays, it is not recommended or nice enough to be a camping spot. (I mean you could... but there 10000 other way better places in the day time)
