The Nintendo 3DS proved that handheld RPGs didn’t have to play it safe. Beyond the system’s biggest hits, there was a strange, ambitious undercurrent of games that experimented with mechanics, structure, and storytelling in ways few people noticed. In this video, we’re checking out some of the OTHER 3DS RPGs— the hidden gems, some might say. These titles flew under the radar, broke conventions, and sometimes asked players to rethink what role-playing on a handheld could be… or maybe not haha
