Let's Play Lucy Dreaming #34: Waking up to the Truth

We have retrieved Curly's plunger from the ruins of Disleyland. Once we hand it to him, we'll be allowed into the school to find an alphamax player that can play the security footage recovered from the costume head. There's no going back to the rest of the game once we step into the school, but why would we want to do that? All the answers to our questions can be found on that tape... but do we want to know the truth?

Who killed Fergus Fig and why? Why has our mind been trying to protect us from what we know? Time to find out... whether we actually want to or not.

I had no idea what to expect when I started playing this game aside from the fact that it's a point and click adventure game that has a heavy lean into British humour, but my was I blown away with how fun it is. The game is incrediably amusing, with well thought out jokes that anyone can understand but are extra funny for those that come from the UK. The graphics, the music, the characters, oh the characters... I find myself saying some of Mr Fumble's lines in my day-to-day life and that's a good sign. The story had some great twists and the puzzles mostly made sense, though the dream ones had that ethereal oddness to them which is to be expected. If there's anything I'd want to have seen different, it's even more different lines of dialogue for Lucy when trying to talk to inventory objects or things, but that's me being spoiled by Edna & Harvey.

So, what's next for the Sunday slot? I think it's time to play something very different to what I've played before. It's a game that I loved playing when it came out, the first in a series of games that was synonymous with online FPS games for quite a long time before it was eventually shelved in favour of something that is far, far more popular with a much broader audience. I think it's finally time to walk down memory lane and shake off the rust as I try once more... to win the tournament.
