Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS) was issued by Nepal Accounting Standard Board in 2013. It is the set of accounting standards prepared on the basis of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). It is a common accounting and reporting language that helps to maintain books of accounts which is comparable, reliable, relevant and understandable. All the companies with minimum paid-up capital of Rs 5 billion are subject to prepare financial statement based on NFRS. Likewise, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed the financial institutions like commercial banks, development banks and finance companies to follow the standards.
