EDGEcast - Solid Edge Synchronous Sheet Metal

Solid Edge has a dedicated Sheet Metal modelling environment, for the creation of parts that can be cut and bent into shape from a single flat blank – and the best part is that you’ll never have to run any neutral factor calculations again once you’ve assigned a material, as Solid Edge does it for you.

This EDGEcast episode is aimed at introducing new users to Sheet Metal modelling in Synchronous mode. I’ll be showing you how to create and edit unique-thickness models with the three pillars of Synchronous mode (3D Dimensions, Live Rules and Face Relationships) – how to change a part from a thin-walled solid model to Sheet Metal, and how to alter Sheet Metal models imported from other modelling software as if they were modelled in Solid Edge itself.
