Angels Landing and the northern lights were just two of our surprises on the 4-day Zion Traverse

If you want to get a glimpse of everything Zion National Park has to offer, there’s no better way than to backpack across the entire park on the Zion Traverse. Also known as the Zion Transect or Trans-Zion Trek, this trail features Kolob Arch, pleasant creeks, sprawling meadows, varied wildlife, jaw-dropping rock formations, and spectacular views. With its plentiful trees, you’ll have shade most places along the way and may even see fall color in early October. As a bonus, you can hike to the thrilling heights of Angels Landing along the way if you get a separate permit.
