Everything ran pretty much on time today, I stayed close to Normal, as I saw a double-stack waiting on the siding at North Normal, next to Old Route 66. I knew both Amtraks would have to clear before he left. Amtrak Lincoln Service Train 301came through, followed by Amtrak Lincoln Service train 302 with Amfleets on front, both an Amfleet 1 and an Amfleet 2. After the northbound stack train cleared the plant, the southbound G4-LB showed up. Both trains had DPUs today. This was followed by Amtrak's Texas Eagle heading northbound. G4-LB was held fouling the main at North Normal until The Texas Eagle arrived, so it would not block Fort Jesse Road in Normal. Then it cleared the main and The Texas Eagle passed around it. I am hoping to see this northbound stack train become a regular on this line. But this line seems to have on-again-off-again train movement, I suppose driven by demand and scheduling.
