This webinar reports the latest research findings on improving mental health and safety in the construction industry. It covers the most frequently mentioned psychosocial hazards (long working hours, role overload, lack of supervisor support) and highlights the contextual factors in the construction industry that lead to these psychosocial hazards. It covers the recommendations and strategies for improving the mental health and wellbeing of the Australian construction workforce.
Presenter Dr Carol Hon is Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow (DECRA) at the School of Architecture and Built Environment of the Queensland University of Technology. She has a quantity surveying background and has been a construction safety and health researcher for more than 12 years. She has expertise in tackling safety and health problems with interdisciplinary researchers using qualitative and quantitative methods.
