Interview with theologian Sergio Massironi, participant of the Mediterranean Theological Meetings organized by the Archdiocese of Rijeka, on July 18, 2025, in Lovran (Interview conducted by Marko Medved)
Sergio Massironi is a priest of the Archdiocese of Milan and a theologian engaged in the dialogue between pastoral practice, academic research, and contemporary social challenges. After more than twenty years of pastoral ministry in parishes across the Milan metropolitan area—especially in work with young people and in public schools—he deepened his theological studies and began collaborating with several journals and research centers.
He has served at the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and currently works as a theological consultant for the First Section of the Vatican Secretariat of State. He teaches at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and Brescia.
Massironi coordinates the international project “Doing Theology from the Existential Peripheries,” initiated by Pope Francis, which brings theologians to encounter marginalized communities in cities around the world. As an author and speaker, he is committed to promoting a Church rooted in dialogue, discernment, and synodal renewal
