Here is a startup/shutdown of an old York Champion IV "Tombstone" air conditioner (which I believe is a first)! This is located at an HVAC heaven that I have filmed before, so you may recognize it. A while back I went here on a super hot day and saw that it was cycling, so I just had to try for it. I originally got a shutdown first but that got corrupted, so then I got it starting up, and then got another shutdown out of determination. It sounded pretty neat. The data was completely gone, but if I read the serial on the Copeland CR correctly, it is from 1985. The camera fell over before the unit shut down (because it was so hot that the duck tape holding my little tripod together literally melted), but oh well. At least you could still hear it. Overall this is a nice catch and I'm pretty happy with it. Enjoy!
Recorded July 14th, 2024. It was about 100 degrees with a much higher heat index.
