FBS Chat with Geert Lefevere and Sébastien Vernieuwe

Geert Lefevere is a clinical psychologist and Solution-Focused therapist. He is a certified supervisor, trainer, and board member at the Korzybski Institute in Bruges. Geert has 40 years of clinical experience in both clinical settings and private practice. He is the author of The Therapeutic Alliance, together with the late Dr. Luc Isebaert. Geert was also Vice-President of EBTA for 15 years and is the current Secretary of IASTI.
Next to his long-standing experience in Solution-Focused therapy, he is a former professional volleyball player and coach, with many years of applying the Solution-Focused approach in sports mental coaching.
Sébastien Vernieuwe has a background in special education and is a Solution-Focused psychotherapist. He is a permanent staff member and trainer at the Korzybski Institute (Bruges, Belgium). With over two decades of experience in the Solution-Focused field, he has applied the Solution-Focused mindset to a variety of themes and contexts, such as child protection, forensic and general youth work, co-parenting and blended families, and more recently, applications related to gaming and online habits, community-based projects, and the application of the Solution-Focused approach to creativity and art. Sébastien is also the main instigator behind the popular 3QBEER, the world’s only Solution-Focused beer—typically Belgian.
The Korzybski Institute is one of the oldest and largest training and research centres for Solution-Focused practice in the world.
