This was my genuine dream trip. I’ve wanted to experience Edinburgh for its moody atmosphere and historic structures, and the city of literature did not disappoint. We started there and then ventured out to the countryside. Though I had longed for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts-type-stuff in the city, the countryside proved itself an even more beautiful escape into an other worldly paradise. We visited the coveted glennfinnan viaduct, inverary castle, small towns, and big lochs. The natural habitat, local people, and wildlife/farm creatures were most encapsulating; overall Scotland has fantastical aura. I did have the vegetarian foods, but they claim haggis may not have always been meat anyways! As a Kirkendall, it was great to see some deep ancestral roots in such a gorgeous country. Hope to be back!
