It started playing Hardcore Jungle music before the sound developed it what is known as the Drum & Bass. It featured some of the scene's most celebrated DJs, MCs, producers and artists. Fugi (Fugitive) who was part of the management took the name Rude FM and set up on the 88.2FM dial taking many of the DJs and MCs whilst Chillum (Chill'em) and Lady Cyrus continued to manage the newly styled Ruud Awakening FM on 104.3.
