I’m joined by Andy (Pleiades) to dive deep into the meaning behind two of their tracks: “No Living Thing” and “LA1 (Left Aimless)”.
We start with No Living Thing and line “I’m caught on the claw of a single thought and it’s keeping me in all of the space I’ve realigned.”
Andy opens up about the real story behind it: witnessing someone’s physical and cognitive decline too early, the conflict of loving someone who is slipping away, and the reminder that our bodies are fragile, no matter how invincible we feel.
Then we move to LA1 (Left Aimless) and its image: “On the ground I found myself hiding from the tortoiseshell shadow cast a shade of black from the windowsill.”
What starts with a cat and a family of blackbirds becomes a metaphor for oppression, survival, and quiet resilience, but also a love letter to his hometown of Lancaster.
