Why 2.0? Well now – that’s a story…
In late 2020 we released ‘Raised on Rock’ as a single (track one of two with similar names you will find on the album) - which reached #6 in the Amazon Hot New Rock Releases chart. Roll on some years and we take a phone call from a very well-spoken gentleman saying Hi and he’d listened to our track ‘Raised On Rock’, seen the video on YouTube - and would we like to get together for a writing session…? He had some thoughts he’d like to run by us… Who was this caller?

You’ve all heard of ‘God gave rock and roll to you, I surrender, Since you’ve been gone, On the rebound… if we continued listing the hits he’s penned we’d be here all day - On the end of the phone was non other than the Grammy award nominee producer and song writing legend – Russ Ballard.

Thus began THE MOST rewarding journey / experience you could ever hope to have as a musician – to work with a man of Russ’s talent, expertise and experience writing, performing and producing new music. Russ has since told us he’s not sure why he reached out to us, as he’s so busy, he doesn’t generally do that - but he felt he should, it felt like fate… and we are so appreciative of the opportunity. How many bands get to do that!?

Russ remains a performing artist to this day, - you can catch him out on tour regularly traveling across the globe performing a full set of his catalogue of hits live - his music has inspired us all for so many years – it was a no brainer to invite Russ to guest on the recordings (AND in the video). We’re beyond excited to share this video with you now… it’s been so much fun putting this together.

Take a look / listen – you’ll hear his trademark vocal tones and Holey Guitar supporting us throughout the tune - which makes the track even more special for us. How cool is that!? Standing side by side with the man that Gave Rock and Roll to YOU – Giving Rock ‘n’ Roll to US ALL right now – so very special indeed.

This song is a reworking of the concept for Raised on Rock which had fired up and inspired Russ so much on hearing our original 2020 track. Put yourselves in our shoes here… It’s beyond comprehension. A tune of ours being noticed by and inspiring such a reaction from such an amazing man. We loved it! Was this even real!!?? (Oh YEAH!!). On first hearing his ideas we made the decision there and then and agreed with Russ that this song would complement and join it’s sibling on the album, Raised on Rock meet Raised on Rock 2.0…

The whole experience, ‘working’ (well as the man says, it’s not really work is it when you love what you are doing?) on new music together has been such a laugh, and an amazing experience. Who knows where the journey might take us? There’s more new music on the way!
