Edward MacDowell - Lamia, Op. 29 (1888)

"Lamia" is a symphonic poem composed by Edward MacDowell. This piece is inspired from a text by John Keats. Despite it's early composition date, this piece didn't receive a performance until October 23, 1908 (a few months after MacDowell's early death). The first performance was by the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
