Wanting to sustainably grow indoor organic produce at home, The Wormhole Garden was born. Utilizing grow tents and grow lamps, indoors, to grow sustainably, using red worms to vermicompost the soil as the plants grow in it.
The Wormhole Garden’s goal was to simulate nature as much as possible, to allow for a consistent sustainable organic produce harvest year-round.
The selection of organic vegetables The Wormhole Garden grows is also important: high-production is valued but low-resource-requirements are vital, as an indoor grow lamp simply cannot match the power of the sun. This made us take a different look at how food is grown and what we wanted to grow, and you can learn with us!
The Wormhole Garden is able to sustainably produce enough organic vegetables for a small family, for an electricity cost of around $15 a month.
