Physios can work in different areas of speciality in the UK, and a starting qualified band 5 or 6 physio usually have rotational job role in several of these specialities. There is also different settings: acute, intermediate care, outpatient & domiciliary or the community settings.
Additional information:
1. Another area of specialty is oncology/palliative care, although this is usually not for band 5s. In intermediate care,s outpatient and community setting, one way of managing case load is doing group classes for patients.
2.An example is the pulmonary rehabilitation (as mentioned in the video), MSK, specialist services e.g., stroke, falls, elderly.
3. Unique to respiratory ICU setting for band 5 is being "on call", where your shift is at anytime of the night when the nurse calls you for managing a patient.
4. For physios, it is usually office hours work. But this can be different on acute, like the "on call" shift, or in community where you are assigned on weekend shifts.
