The 2024 Kenworth W900L featured here is owned by Bentleyville, Pennsylvania-based Kevin Hunter, owner of Hunter Contracting LLC. Hunter's fleet of 20-plus trucks hauls heavy construction equipment, along with some other work with two dump trucks and two four-axle rollback units. Unlike the unit featured in this video, most of the trucks in Hunter's fleet feature a red cab with black stripes. For this his personal unit, after he was less than thrilled with the paint work from the factory, he and his painter decided to go with a scheme that's opposite of his company trucks -- black with red stripes.
The rig is powered by a Cat C15 that's tuned up with a ""big bore" kit to make it a 16.8-liter engine, Hunter said. He put it on a dyno and found it was putting 1,150 horsepower and 3,450 lb.-ft. torque to the ground. Hunter noted the engine is tough on transmissions, but he's going to run it as is for now before turning it down some in the future.
Hunter showed his impressive rig at the 2025 Shell Rotella SuperRigs working truck show at EchoPark Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. More from SuperRigs and other 2025 truck shows in Overdrive's Custom Rigs section at https://overdriveonline.com/custom-rigs
