BIRMINGHAM CHRISTMAS MARKET
We visit Birmingham City Centre for a look around the Birmingham Frankfurt christmas market stalls, the shops, bars, restaurants and landmarks of this great city. We take a walk through Birmingham from the bullring up to town hall, chamberlain square and along to the christmas market in centenary square.

The Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market is an absolute blast, transforming the city centre into a buzzing, twinkling slice of festive Bavaria! As the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria, it brings an incredible atmosphere right to Victoria Square and New Street. You can't help but feel the holiday cheer as you wander through the endless rows of charming wooden stalls, soaking up the sights, sounds, and most importantly, the delicious smells. The whole area becomes a giant, joyful social hub where friends and family gather to kick off the festive season, often accompanied by live music and the very popular, very silly, singing moose, Chris Moose!

When it comes to the stalls, the market is a treasure trove of unique and wonderful gifts, making Christmas shopping a delightful experience instead of a chore. Visitors can browse a fantastic selection of handcrafted wooden decorations, from delicate tree ornaments and snow globes to classic Nutcracker figurines. There are also plenty of other shops offering everything from beautiful crystal lamps and intricate leatherwork to unique jewellery and traditional toys. Whether you are looking for a special one-of-a-kind present or just a festive souvenir to remember your visit, the sheer variety and traditional European craftsmanship on display make it a perfect place to find those special Christmas tidbits.

No trip to this market is complete without indulging in the fantastic food and drink on offer. The air is thick with the irresistible aroma of authentic German treats like sizzling bratwurst sausages served in a roll, huge soft pretzels (Brezel), and sweet roasted almonds. To wash it all down, you can grab a mug of traditional Glühwein (mulled wine), the perfect warm and spiced winter drink, or try a refreshing German Weissbier (wheat beer). For those with a sweet tooth or who prefer non-alcoholic warmth, there are decadent chocolate-covered crêpes and steaming hot chocolate topped with cream. Just remember you pay a deposit for the delightful mug or stein with your drink, which you can either keep as a souvenir or return to get your money back!
