Seen from the valley floor, Col Rosa is an impressive rock feature. The short but steep Via Ferrata 'Ettore Bovero' leads to the summit at 2.166 meters. The views of Cortina d'Ampezzo and the surrounding Dolomites are fabulous.
In september 2019, four 'Dolomiti-friends' and myself went up to Col Rosa on a splendid summer-day. I brought a drone, and although I was a bit nervous about launching it from the face of the mountain, it turned out to be a smooth flight that gave us a completely different view on the Via Ferrata we had climbed many times before.
