For 1.4 billion Chinese people, Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a joyous occasion where families reunite, enjoy delicious food, and spend time with loved ones. However, there is a hidden side to the celebrations - a world of loneliness, boredom, and melancholy for those left out of the festivities.
Despite not experiencing much joy myself during this time as an expat in China, I am happy for my friends who are finally celebrating this Lunar New Year with their families after being apart for the whole year. To all my Chinese friends, I wish you a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year! 新年快乐,恭喜发财
