Watching aeroplanes landing & taking off at London Gatwick Airport with aircraft identification and flight route information on screen!

I filmed this in 2024 and own all the rights to it, including but not limited to audio and visual material, as I recorded this myself to showcase the diverse array of planes and airlines that operate at London Gatwick Airport.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW), located south of Central London in West Sussex, is one of the UK’s busiest and most important international airports. As the second-busiest airport in the United Kingdom after Heathrow, Gatwick plays a key role in connecting London to destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond. The airport lies approximately 45 kilometers (about 28 miles) from Central London and serves as a vital component of the region’s air travel infrastructure.

Gatwick features one runway. This single-runway operation is among the busiest of its kind in the world, supporting efficient movements through meticulous scheduling and coordination. Pre-pandemic, the airport handled over 46 million passengers annually, placing it among Europe’s top ten airports by passenger numbers. Gatwick serves as a major base for airlines such as easyJet, British Airways, and Norse Atlantic Airways, while also accommodating a wide range of international carriers including Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, and WestJet.

I filmed this video with the goal of showing aviation enthusiasts or people with a general interest in watching planes what you can see in Gatwick. Most people can’t travel around the world for a hobby and those who can’t don’t get to see what can be filmed at LGW. This video serves as a way to give people their curiosity fix and to also allow those who love to watch planes to do it from the comfort of their own home!
