RetroArch:
• If your device doesn’t have the RetroArch emulator pre-installed, don’t download RetroArch from Play Store, go to retroarch.com (from Google) – scroll down to ‘Download’ – scroll down to the ‘Android’ section – Download (64bit) – enable ‘Install unknown apps’ – open the apk file – install – open – grant access/allow (if the 64bit apk doesn’t work, you can also try the ‘Nightly’ or the ‘Stable’ in the ‘Cross Platform’ section): https://www.retroarch.com/?page=platf...
• For games to work, you need to download RetroArch cores: Go to RetroArch (app) – Main Menu (the house icon on the right side of the screen) – Online Updater – Core Downloader – download all the available cores
• To remove touch screen buttons, go to RetroArch settings (the gear logo on the right) – User Interface – On-Screen Display – On-Screen Overly – turn off (to avoid showing the touch screen buttons on the screen)
• To setup your hotkeys, go to RetroArch settings (the gear logo on the right) – Input – Hotkeys – configure your hotkeys to your preferences (bringing up RetroArch, load state, save stat, exit a game properly…etc.)
• To map/bind your keys (remember, you need to follow what the text says, not the signs), go to RetroArch settings (the gear icon on the right) – Input – RetroPad Binds – Port 1 Controls – Analogue to Digital Type – Left Analogue. Then, go down to map your buttons by touching & holding the button you need to map (until you reach right analogue). After that, using the touch screen (no buttons/controls), go back to ‘Menu Controls’ – turn off ‘Menu Swap OK and Cancel Buttons’ so you can use the Nintendo layout (A=enter, B=back)
• To save current configuration, go to ‘Configuration File’ (the house icon on the right) – Save Current Configuration
Daijisho:
• Download (from the Play Store) and launch Daijisho
• To add your games systems: Click on ‘Download’ (at the bottom right corner) – Check/select the platforms you want to show/see on your frontend – Import
• To add your games/roms to Daijisho: Click on ‘Paths’ – ‘Add More’ – navigate to find where your roms are saved (by clicking on the 3 dashes on the top left corner) – click on ‘Use This Folder’ (at the bottom) – Allow – Finish. Then, click on the ‘edit’ icon (at the bottom right corner) – scroll down to ‘Player Settings’ and make sure you have the correct emulator/core – click ‘save’. Then, click on ‘Paths’ again – Sync (and all your games/roms will automatically added to the system)
• To change your theme/wallpaper in Daijisho: Click on ‘Settings’ (from top) – Appearance – Download platform wallpapers pack – Download Pack
• To add your own box art/images in Daijisho: Download an image of your choice (in the ‘Downloads’ folder) – go into the system/platform – hold down/long press on the game – Edit item – Edit Preview Media – Box art – find/navigate to the ‘Download’ folder (where you have your image) – click on the image – Save
• To remove on-screen controllers in Daijisho: Swipe your screen from left to right – tap the D-pad icon – Touchscreen – Hide With External Controller
• To disable/remove ‘Killing package processes’, while starting a game, go to ‘Settings’ – Library – Disable player warnings
