GoPro Hero 7 Black How to Extract GPS Files is part 1 in a series where I show you how to take your GoPro timewarp video and extract the GPS files to create a path in Google Earth. The Hero 7 black timewarp feature lets you create a smooth timelapse video, even if you are walking, riding a bike, skiing, driving, whatever. The hypersmooth stabilization feature makes a really nice smooth video even if you are on bumpy terrain or jogging or just driving on a smooth road. But what if you want to show people where you are on a map so they can get a better idea of the terrain or the road you are on? GoPro Quik lets you see things like speed, altitude, gforce, and even a GPS line but it doesn't show you a map of where you are. That's where Google Earth comes in! How do you get the GPS data from your GoPro video? That's what I show in this part of the series. Once you get your data, you can create a fly-through path in Google Earth, then you need to record that and combine it with your original video so you can see both of them at the same time. In part 2 of this series I will show you how to record your Google Earth fly-through, then in part 3 I will show how to combine the two videos into one. The best thing is all of the software for the whole thing is free!

Extraction software: https://goprotelemetryextractor.com/f... Click on the “free” button on the bottom and you can just drop your GoPro file onto the page and it will extract it automatically. You will have to provide your email address for the free version. Also after you extract the file, you will have to click on the .gpx for GoPro button (or whatever its called) and it will save the .gpx to your hard drive.
