Eric's Heroes: Seattle's Lighthouse for the Blind explores the power of purpose

It's a nondescript, rectangular building in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood. You could drive past it a hundred times and not really notice it.

But inside, wonderous things happen every minute of every day, things that remind us there is no limit to what human beings are capable of.

George Abbott is the president and CEO of The Lighthouse For the Blind. "Everyone is here for a purpose," he says, "we all work hard together, the community is great, it's like a family, it truly is."

That first part of what he said is at the root of the entire organization. "Everyone is here for a purpose."

George is just one of the many little miracles within the walls of The Lighthouse. He was born blind, because of under-developed optic nerves. And yet, he captains this incredible ship.
