we are using Infaco sheers with backpack batteries to prune truffle trees.
In a cold climate we normally prune a truffle tree like a Christmas tree, with a unique main dominant trunk, but in hot areas, where truffles will look for extra shade, we open trees like fruit or olive trees, with 3-4 main branches that will built the future tree canopy.
Mainly we remove all bottom branches up to 80-100cm that will disturb working with machinery and truffle gods at hunting + empty trees inside. At year 4, once we decide which ones will be the main 3-4 branches, we remove lateral branches that head down and the lateral branches that head inside the canopy along each of these 3-4 main future trunks.
