POLICE BODYCAM: Karen Read Tully Search Warrant 1/24/24 ***SEIZED CELL PHONES*** (Lt. Fanning)

Karen Read’s cell phones are now at the center of a separate witness-intimidation investigation, unrelated to her murder trial. The devices were seized by Massachusetts State Police in January 2024, and a special prosecutor Cosgrove claims they may contain evidence of coordination with blogger Aidan Kearney (“Turtleboy”) to influence or intimidate witnesses.

Despite Read’s acquittal on murder charges, prosecutors are seeking court-ordered access to the phones, including passwords. Her defense argues the seizure is unconstitutional and retaliatory, and that the devices should be returned. A judge is now expected to decide whether the phones can be searched or must be released.
