The studio version of ‘Cousinage & Penchant Pour Ti-Jean’ can be found on track five of the new and much lauded album ‘Tentation’ by the Yves Lambert Trio.
Yves Lambert -- About Tentation
"We’re talking about vision – for the Tentation album, I was greatly inspired by the biblical theme “The Temptation of Saint Anthony”, a theme that also inspired many artists over the centuries, among them the painters Salvador Dali, Heironymous Bosch, Martin Chongauer, Michelangelo and Max Ernst; Gustave Flaubert’s writing also reflected the story’s influence. I couldn’t be among better company! For me, this theme is a nature study. A view of humanity through its strengths and weaknesses. From sacrifice and sin to pleasure and regret, with sacrifice integral to pleasure – plenty of paths to take.
It is in this spirit that I have developed the “happy” concept that will imbue this new album, featuring temptation in all its forms – carnal pleasure, drinking, abuse of power, etc. As for the music itself, it is the fruit of 15 years of collaboration with Olivier and Tommy, two extraordinary musicians with whom I have developed a powerful complicity. Together, we are also driven by a common understanding of the importance of tradition in the face of broad, mainstream musical trends of today. That’s the picture!" Yves Lambert
Musicians: Olivier Rondeau A talented, stylish and tasteful guitarist and music arranger – a true master.
Tommy Gauthier on violin, mandolin, foot percussion, not to mention arrangements, production and sound engineering. Another master at my side.
“I consider myself very fortunate to work with these two master musicians. Their musical know-how, along with my curiosity,
experience and crazy ideas, allow me to hang ten on the front edge of the artistic wave.” -- Yves Lambert
Yves Lambert was a founding member of La Bottine Souriante back in 1976 along with Andre Marchland, and Mario Forest.
He was a member of the band from 1976 until his departure in 2002. La Bettina Souriante remain great favourites with European and global world music audiences.
For the past thirty years Yves Lambert has been a driving force in traditional music by taking his Quebecois art and culture to audiences beyond the Canadian borders and establishing it alongside world music across the globe.
His charisma and talent coupled with Tommy Gauthier and Olivier Rondeau’s virtuosity, passion, arrangements and distinct harmony make seeing this trio’s performance a unique musical experience They bring with them energy, atmosphere and a vibrant sound proving there’s really nothing quite like the Yves Lambert Trio.
