Tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy is the first cell therapy for solid tumor cancers. This type of treatment uses the T cells that are found within the patient's own tumor — by taking these cells from the tumor and activating them by the billions, these T cells are returned to the patient with the ability to fight the cancer.
