Man, I am SO stoked to finally be able to cover this song!! I've been planning to cover it since like 2019, and I finally got a really solid idea and motivation to do it this year :D. I absolutely love Madoka Magica, and this song is so special--I wanted to try to capture all the epic grandeur, elegant darkness, and magical beauty of both the show and this song in my lyrics and arrangement! I put a ton of effort into everything here and I think it turned out amazing--but of course, I couldn't do it alone! I reached out to Ying about doing vocals on this and they had the killer idea to make it a full trio, and already had some friends who were down to sing on it as well--Jenn and Fei are both amazing singers and it was such a joy to be able to work with them for the first time 🙏. I knew from the start I wanted this to have live strings, and fortunately the wonderful Ariah` was down to provide violins! I went searching for violists on YT and discovered willimakemusic, who does beautiful viola covers--I reached out to him and he was down to play on this project, which was awesome :D. I also wanted to get artwork for this song to have a lyric video, and the incredible Yubuki graciously agreed to do the artwork for this--she did SUCH a fantastic job ✨ I am not a pro lyric video person at all so this was a bit of a struggle, but I think the video at least turned out okay (Yubuki art saves my non-existent motion graphics skills LOL).
