Shenzhen Dasha River Park is located in the central part of Nanshan District and covers an area of 31.2 hectares. It was completed and opened to the public during China’s National Day in 2007. The park is named after the Dasha River and is an important component of the Shenzhen Bay urban greenbelt system. The site was formerly a construction waste landfill and was redeveloped with an investment of RMB 22.36 million by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. Construction began in 2006 and was completed in July 2007.
The park features abundant vegetation, with more than 100 species of trees and shrubs totaling over 10,000 plants, as well as 390,000 square meters of lawn area. Major attractions include Sansheng Plaza, the Grand Lawn, Sansheng Pavilion, and Wind Chime Path. Reclaimed water is used for irrigating the green spaces, and solar-powered streetlights are installed throughout the park.
The park is themed around “Life, Vitality, and Ecology,” with a focus on environmental protection and energy conservation. In terms of spatial layout, the park has three main entrance plazas (South Gate, East Gate, and Northwest Gate), one Sunshine Lawn, and one Model Aircraft Plaza. It also includes two parking lots, 4,500 meters of internal pathways, and four public restrooms. Recreational facilities such as basketball courts, tennis courts, fitness areas, and a children’s sand playground are also provided.
