How can I grow my Substack without an audience?—This is a question I’ve been getting a lot lately.

And to be honest…the thought of sharing growth strategies and hacks makes me cringe. 😬 I have one too many scars from people in the online space telling me “if you just do XYZ you’ll make it!”

And yet—I totally understand the question and curiosity.

I’m grateful to share that Substack has built-in ways to help you grow your publication, even if you’re starting from scratch.

I’m not talking about millions of subscribers overnight, but in the past year and a half over 573 wonderful people have found and subscribed to my Substack simply from:
✔️ Being on the platform
✔️ Making conversation and connections
✔️ Titling my creations in an SEO-friendly way

👉 So the quick answer is—being on Substack can help you find a few like-minded friends who want to consume what you’re creating.
