This video, shot in 2018 from Kadalundi-Vallikkunnu Community Reserve, is about the reemergence of otters in the estuary of Kadalundi River, Malappuram, Kerala. Kadalundi river is a 130 kilometres long river which originates from the buffer zone of Silent Valley and flows through the Malappuram dist of Kerala state before joining the Arabian sea. The estuary of the river feeds more than hundred varieties of migratory birds. the area is conserved as a community reserve with the cooperation of native people. In the recent years, Indian smooth coated otters have reemerged in the estuary providing a fresh hope to naturalists and environmentalists.
