The most loved Disney parade ever debuted at Disneyland on this day in 1972, but do you remember when Disneyland announced that it was “Going Away Forever” in 1996? And then introduced it in the Magic Kingdom in FL in 1999? And then brought it back to California and ran it at California Adventure in 2001 because the park was not doing well? Then after running at DCA for 9 years, it was reshipped back to Florida where it ran for another 6 years until 2016? Before coming back to Disneyland for a “Limited Run” in 2017? And again in 2019? That was a 23 year “FINAL” Season!
I bought into the hype and braved the crowds at Disneyland two months before it “Closed forever”. This video is not so much about the parade, but about the people and the crowds that flocked to Disneyland to line the parade route in those final months. Check out the crowds at the end of the parade. Do you remember what replaced this parade? I have a final nod at the end!
