A book is handed— Thin but wise:
“How to Make Friends,” Third revised.

And somewhere beyond the page and the snow,
A different author says softly, “You know—
John, my friend, let them laugh a bit more.
The world needs a joke
And a warm winter door.”

Stories bend but hearts remain
Not all magic breaks the dark—
Some just leave a brighter mark

Raise a cup to frost and cheer,
To gifts absurd and friends held dear
For even legends, carved in stone,
Can change—
When written by friends,

The dwarf who became
Father Christmas…
